Mrs. Kim Hires Smith

It is a true privilege and joy to serve as the principal of Fort Lewis Elementary School.  Fort Lewis has a long history of academic success, parent and community involvement, and happy children! 

I have been serving students in Roanoke County since 1995 as a special educator, classroom teacher, and assistant principal.  Providing meaningful and positive learning experiences for our students is not only my mission, it is my passion.  

I look forward to working together to continue this great tradition and to explore new ways to excite and inspire our children to be life-long learners.  My door is always open to share concerns, questions, and great ideas!

Mrs. Crystal Bondurant

Hello Fort Lewis! I am so excited to serve as your Assistant Principal and to join Roanoke County Public Schools.

I graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2006 with a concentration in Early Childhood Education and with a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction in 2007. In 2021, I obtained an endorsement in Administration and Supervision from Longwood University.

I have served students and their families as an educator since 2007 in Greensville County, Bedford County, and Washington D.C. This year I will be serving as Assistant Principal of Fort Lewis Elementary and Mount Pleasant Elementary. I am passionate about learning and education and look forward to building relationships with each of you.
